Bf 109 G-6 early and late

Genral Information for the Bf 109 G-6, in the first 6 months of 1944 the GM-1 (U2) modification wasinstalled at 231 Bf 109 G-6, but the performance was so bad, all planes were modified to MW50 (U3). Some late planes got the tall tail and the oil cooler bulge at starboard side. Antenna at the late ones was smaller and fixed at Erla Canopy or behind the canopy at the fuselage.

  1. The Mk 108 had the suffix U4 and was basically built in at WNF plant late 1943.
  2. Introduction of the Mk108 cannon with visible (starborad) cap of the compressed air filler point
  3. Mk108 compressed air outlet visible just after the last exhaust pipe





Bf 109 G-14
The Bf 109 G-14 was a modified G-6, the G-10 takes some longer time based on problems with the motor, to avoid waiting time the G-14 was released.

Variants of fin and rudder



  1. Additional panel under MW50 fill, remnant of GM-1 installation valve. Seen on Erla built aircraft only. (maybe old G-6 frames modified to G-14).
